What is a Representative Payee?
Social Security appoints a payee to receive the Social Security or SSI benefits for anyone who can’t manage or direct the management of his or her benefits. A payee’s main duties are to use the benefits to pay for the current and future needs of the beneficiary, and properly save any benefits not needed to meet current needs.
Who is B&R and how can they help me?
The small family owned organization was established and bonded in 2007. With over 35 years combined experience and working alongside Social Security and multiple Regional Centers, our focus is to assist you in all your money management needs. Once your Regional Center service coordinator has sent us your application, we immediately file all required paperwork with Social Security and prepare a monthly budget that works in your best interest. How do I know if B&R is right for me?
Do you worry that your disability benefit is being used improperly? Is your monthly needs not being fulfilled? Is family or friends being your representative payee not an option? Are you a client with Regional Center? B&R can help! Once we have become your payee we assist you in so much more than just paying your rent.
As long as you meet all requirements to receive benefits, we makes sure that you continue to receive your benefits. Meaning, any paperwork required from Social Security that we can do on your behalf, wage reporting and report all changes that Social Security require to be reported.
Medi-Cal/ Medicare - Filing and/or renewals. B&R can handle it all for you.
Budgeting - B&R has a well developed system to pay your utilities on time and online (if available) so that if required, bill statements can be sent to your property management for housing assistance or renewal.
B&R always has your updated ledgers available (upon request) to show the proper disbursement of your benefit as well as your current balance in a designated account we have for each individual client.
